Why bathrooms need extra care
Bathrooms are small, but they are the most detailed rooms in any home. Water spots, soap scum, toothpaste on the mirror, hair on the floor, and that ring that shows up around the tub. Moisture makes grime build up fast, especially in showers that get used every day.
A bathroom that looks clean from the doorway is not the same as a bathroom that is really clean. I get down to the base of the toilet, around the faucet handles, and into the corners of the shower. That is the difference you can feel.
What my bathroom cleaning includes
Tubs and showers
- Scrub the tub inside and out
- Scrub shower walls and tile
- Remove soap scum and water spots from glass doors
- Wipe shower caddies, shelves, and ledges
- Shine faucets and shower heads
- Rinse and wipe dry where needed
Toilets
- Scrub inside the bowl
- Clean and sanitize the seat, lid, and handle
- Wipe the tank and the outside of the bowl
- Clean the base and the floor around it
Sinks, counters, and mirrors
- Clean the sink basin and drain area
- Shine faucets and handles
- Wipe counters and move items to clean under them
- Clean mirrors so they are streak free
- Wipe cabinet fronts and handles
The rest of the room
- Wipe towel bars and toilet paper holders
- Wipe light switches and door handles
- Empty the trash
- Sweep and mop the floor
Deep bathroom cleaning
During a deep clean, I spend extra time on the things that build up slowly:
- Scrubbing grout lines on shower tile and floors
- Hard water spots on glass and fixtures
- Behind and around the toilet
- Baseboards and door frames
- Exhaust fan covers and light fixtures I can reach
- Inside empty vanity drawers and medicine cabinets
Every bathroom in your home counts
Primary bathroom, kids bathroom, powder room, basement bathroom. Each one gets the same attention. The kids bathroom might need more toothpaste scrubbing. The guest bath might just need dusting and a quick shine. I will see them all during the walkthrough so your price and plan fit.

Honest talk about tough stains
Most soap scum and grime comes right off with regular cleaning. But some things, like very old hard water stains, etched glass, mold stains set deep into caulk, or worn finishes, may not fully come out. I will always be honest with you during the walkthrough about what cleaning can fix and what it cannot. I would rather tell you the truth than overpromise.
Keeping your bathrooms fresh between visits
- Squeegee or wipe glass shower doors after use
- Run the exhaust fan during and after showers
- Rinse toothpaste out of the sink at night
- Keep counters clear so they are easy to wipe
With biweekly or weekly cleaning, buildup never gets the chance to get bad.
